R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A delegation from the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders |
|
program is visiting the State Capitol on May 4, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Emgage is dedicated to educating, empowering, and |
|
mobilizing Muslim American voters in support of policies that |
|
strengthen democracy and enable Muslim communities to thrive; the |
|
group offers a variety of programs, projects, retreats, and |
|
services, including the Million Muslim Votes campaign and a strong |
|
program of African American community engagement; and |
|
WHEREAS, One of the organization's signature programs, |
|
Emerging Leaders helps Muslim youth interested in civic engagement, |
|
government, policy, and advocacy develop the skills necessary to |
|
become tomorrow's leaders; at the end of the six-month program, |
|
participants are connected with governmental and civic |
|
internships; and |
|
WHEREAS, By fostering a more informed and involved citizenry, |
|
Emgage is making vital contributions to the prosperity and vitality |
|
of the Lone Star State, and the participants in the Emgage Texas |
|
Emerging Leaders program are indeed deserving of recognition; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders |
|
program and extend to all program participants sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
