R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Frisco has been selected as one of the |
|
2023 recipients of the Governor's Community Achievement Award; and |
|
WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, Keep Texas Beautiful has |
|
partnered with the Texas Department of Transportation to pay |
|
tribute to towns and cities that have set an outstanding example |
|
with their environmental initiatives; communities are evaluated on |
|
a range of factors that include beautification and improvement, |
|
litter prevention and cleanup, and public awareness and outreach; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, One of the 10 honorees for 2023, Frisco will receive |
|
a $310,000 grant that will be used for a corridor beautification |
|
project; in addition, the city will be recognized during the annual |
|
Keep Texas Beautiful conference in June; and |
|
WHEREAS, Frisco's receipt of this prestigious accolade is a |
|
reflection of the commendable work that has been done to preserve |
|
and enhance the city's surroundings, and all those who have |
|
assisted in that effort may take pride in a job well done; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Frisco on being honored with a 2023 |
|
Governor's Community Achievement Award and commend area residents |
|
for helping to make the city a great place to live and work; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the city as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
