R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Clara Elliott of Austin has distinguished herself as |
|
a member of the first cohort of Luminary Scholars at The University |
|
of Texas Rio Grande Valley; and |
|
WHEREAS, This noteworthy scholarship program covers tuition |
|
and fees for four years of undergraduate education as well as |
|
additional years of professional or graduate studies; the program |
|
was unveiled in 2021 with the goal of improving student success and |
|
increasing educational opportunities; and |
|
WHEREAS, To earn selection as a Luminary Scholar, students |
|
must demonstrate exceptional academic ability, responsibility and |
|
leadership, and community involvement while in high school, and |
|
participants also commit to working in the Rio Grande Valley |
|
following their graduation; a fitting recipient of the scholarship, |
|
Ms. Elliott is currently studying biomedical sciences at UTRGV; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Clara Elliott has |
|
displayed admirable dedication and perseverance in the pursuit of |
|
her goals, and she may indeed reflect with great pride on her |
|
outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Clara Elliott for her accomplishments as a |
|
Luminary Scholar at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Elliott as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
