R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Fred Arthur Henson of Madisonville, who passed away on April 17, |
|
2023, at the age of 72; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Arthur and Barbara Henson, Fred Henson |
|
was born in Denison on July 21, 1950, and grew up with two siblings, |
|
Jeanne and David; he graduated from Klein High School in 1968; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Henson embarked upon a long and rewarding career |
|
in the automotive industry when he joined the staff of the parts |
|
department at Ford Chevrolet in Tomball; in 1993, he founded Henson |
|
Family Dealerships, which grew to become a multi-dealership |
|
corporation; he had other successful entrepreneurial endeavors as |
|
well, and in all of his professional pursuits, he inspired his |
|
colleagues with his work ethic and his drive; and |
|
WHEREAS, A leader in his community, Mr. Henson served on |
|
numerous boards and committees, including the First National Bank |
|
of Huntsville board of directors, and in 2004, he was named Madison |
|
County Man of the Year; he was a supporter of the Madison County |
|
Fair Association, the Texas High School Rodeo Association, the |
|
Texas A&M University equestrian program, and the local FFA, along |
|
with many other area youth activities; sustained by a strong faith, |
|
he attended Crossroads Cowboy Church, where he was on the pastor |
|
search committee, and he also volunteered on several committees at |
|
First Baptist Church in Madisonville; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Henson shared more than three decades with his |
|
wife, Liz, and he took great pride in his four children, Stefanie, |
|
Rebecca, Rachel, and Justin; with the passing years, his family |
|
grew to include six grandchildren, Erin, Kaylee, Jacob, Colin, |
|
Cora, and Hardy; in his leisure time, he enjoyed racing cars and |
|
working in his barn; and |
|
WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, a devoted family man, and a |
|
successful entrepreneur, Fred Henson lived a full and generous |
|
life, and he leaves behind a legacy that will long be remembered by |
|
all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Fred Arthur Henson |
|
and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Elizabeth Henson; to his children, Stefanie Maslowski and her |
|
husband, Nick, Rebecca Moutray and her husband, Chris, Rachel |
|
Henson, and Justin Henson and his wife, D'Lynn; to his |
|
grandchildren, Erin McKinney, Kaylee McKinney, Jacob Hull, Colin |
|
Moutray, Cora Moutray, and Hardy Henson; to his mother, Barbara |
|
Henson; to his siblings, Jeanne Thames and her husband, Buddy, and |
|
David Henson and his wife, Darlene; and to his other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fred |
|
Henson. |
