R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Linda Morales has distinguished herself through her
  decades of work on behalf of labor unions across Texas and the
  United States; and
         WHEREAS, Since December 2014, Ms. Morales has served as the
  organizing coordinator of the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor
  Federation, AFL-CIO, which unites the power of 95 unions and 60,000
  union members to advocate for working families in 13 Houston-area
  counties; she has proven to be a dedicated champion for the
  organization's affiliated unions, and she has played an
  instrumental role in expanding the federation's efforts and
  establishing coalitions to address workforce policy issues; her
  many other responsibilities have included guiding training
  workshops, promoting leadership development, supporting electoral
  work, and recruiting members; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Morales previously served the national American
  Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, the
  Sheet Metal Workers International Union, AFL-CIO, and Service
  Employees International Union Local 1; she was also lead organizer
  for the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing
  Committee; and
         WHEREAS, Linda Morales has greatly benefited countless
  working men and women through her exceptional commitment and
  leadership, and it is a pleasure to honor her for her dedication to
  going above and beyond as an avid fighter for civil and human
  rights; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Linda Morales for her contributions to
  labor unions and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Morales as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
