R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Angela Burley has been named the 2022-2023 Secondary |
|
Teacher of the Year for the Dallas Independent School District; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Burley teaches sixth grade world cultures at |
|
Dr. Frederick Douglass Todd Sr. Middle School in Dallas, where she |
|
also serves as the department chair and social studies lead; she has |
|
earned recognition as a Distinguished Exemplary II teacher in |
|
Dallas ISD, as well as certification as a master teacher in the |
|
State of Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, After receiving her bachelor's degree from the |
|
University of North Texas, Ms. Burley obtained her master of |
|
education degree in learning, teaching, and curriculum from the |
|
University of Missouri; she proudly served as a 2021-2022 Teach |
|
Plus Fellow, and she is currently a 2022-2023 Senior Fellow for the |
|
Recruitment and Retention of Teachers of Color cohort; and |
|
WHEREAS, Angela Burley exemplifies the passion, |
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Angela Burley on her selection as |
|
the 2022-2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Dallas |
|
Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success with her important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Burley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
