R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, DeLora Wilkinson of Houston has distinguished |
|
|
herself through her achievements in the field of real estate; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her 40-year career, Ms. Wilkinson |
|
|
has held a number of sales and executive management positions; she |
|
|
served as president of the Houston Association of Realtors in 1986, |
|
|
and she has completed several terms on the board of directors of the |
|
|
National Association and Texas Association of Realtors; in 2017, |
|
|
she was appointed to the Texas Real Estate Commission as a broker |
|
|
member, and she has further served the organization as a |
|
|
commissioner and liaison to the Education Standards Advisory |
|
|
Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilkinson is a former chair of the Houston |
|
|
Northwest Chamber of Commerce, and she served on the Houston |
|
|
Economic Development Committee of the Greater Houston Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce; she was also the founding president of the Foundation for |
|
|
the Arts and Cultural Enhancement and treasurer of the Texas |
|
|
Independent College Fund Board of Directors from 1997 to 2004; in |
|
|
addition, she has been involved in the Visions for Greater Houston |
|
|
steering committee and the Adults Relating to Kids Group; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Among her many accolades, Ms. Wilkinson has |
|
|
received the Houston Realtor of the Year award and the John E. Wolf |
|
|
Citizenship Award from the Houston Association of Realtors, the |
|
|
Omega Tau Rho Award and 40 year Emeritus Honor from the National |
|
|
Association of Realtors, and the Citizen of the Year award from the |
|
|
Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce; she holds Certified Real |
|
|
Estate Brokerage Manager and Graduate, Realtor Institute |
|
|
designations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A leader in her profession, DeLora Wilkinson has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients |
|
|
alike, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her |
|
|
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend DeLora Wilkinson of Houston for her |
|
|
achievements in the field of real estate and extend to her sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Wilkinson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
