R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Saul Armando Fontes of El Paso was selected to
  participate in the 2023 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership
  Program, and he has ably served his fellow Texans as an aide in the
  office of State Representative Armando Walle during the 88th
  Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
  Leadership Foundation, the Moreno/Rangel program offers
  outstanding Latino and Latina students an opportunity to serve as
  full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Texas
  House of Representatives; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol,
  Mr. Fontes has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety
  of challenging tasks, such as analyzing legislation and helping to
  facilitate Representative Walle's policy agenda; in addition to
  gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, he has
  learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing
  citizens of the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, A recent graduate of The University of Texas at El
  Paso, Mr. Fontes holds a degree in Chicano Studies; while at UTEP,
  he served as a Fall 2022 Bill Archer Fellow in Washington, D.C.; in
  the future, he plans to pursue a career in public service; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his
  duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Saul Armando Fontes for his service as a
  Fellow of the Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and as a
  legislative aide in the office of State Representative Armando
  Walle and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in
  all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Fontes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
