R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ellery A. Richard is being honored on June 11, 2023, |
|
for his 19 years of dedicated service as the pastor of Second Shiloh |
|
Missionary Baptist Church in Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ellery Richard |
|
attended Houston Baptist University, where he studied accounting |
|
and theology; he began his career as an associate minister at Live |
|
Oak Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2004, he took the helm of Second Shiloh |
|
Missionary Baptist Church, and under his leadership, the church has |
|
established a variety of commendable programs that encourage |
|
fellowship and provide help to those in need; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Richard enjoys the love |
|
and support of his wife, Sheila, and he takes great pride in his two |
|
sons, Tyrell and Evan, as well as in his three grandchildren, Evan, |
|
Madison, and Kason; and |
|
WHEREAS, This inspiring clergyman has led Second Shiloh |
|
Missionary Baptist Church with conviction and compassion, and he |
|
has earned the lasting respect and admiration of his congregants as |
|
well as members of the greater community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Pastor Ellery A. Richard on the |
|
joyous occasion of his 19th anniversary with Second Shiloh |
|
Missionary Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success with his important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Pastor Richard as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
