R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brandon W. Barrera took office as the Kleberg County
  justice of the peace for Precinct No. 2 on January 1, 2023,
  following his win in the November 2022 general election; and
         WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Judge
  Barrera draws on a wealth of public and professional experience; he
  was employed as a funeral attendant with Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in
  Kingsville for six years, and he is also a licensed insurance agent;
  he has further served his community as president of the South Texas
  Water Authority, as secretary of the Kleberg County Appraisal
  District Board of Directors, and as a member of the
  Kingsville-Kleberg Joint Airport Zoning Board; moreover, he
  chaired the Kleberg County Republican Party; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Barrera holds a bachelor's degree in
  communications from Texas A&M University-Kingsville; he is a member
  of Kingsville Elks Lodge No. 1926 and a third-degree knight with
  the Knights of Columbus; and
         WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
  able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Brandon
  Barrera may reflect with pride on his accomplishments as he takes on
  the challenges of his new office; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon W. Barrera on his election
  as the Kleberg County justice of the peace for Precinct No. 2 and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Barrera as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
