R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, D'Schon Leon Simmons has been named salutatorian of |
|
|
the Class of 2023 at West Oso High School in Corpus Christi, and he |
|
|
indeed merits special recognition for receiving this significant |
|
|
honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; in securing his place as one of the two |
|
|
top-ranking students in his class, Mr. Simmons demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his |
|
|
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|
|
of a notable high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being |
|
|
recognized for his hard work, he has gained the opportunity to |
|
|
address his fellow seniors at commencement and to reflect on their |
|
|
shared history as well as their hopes and ambitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his years at West Oso High School, D'Schon |
|
|
Leon Simmons has earned the respect and admiration of both his |
|
|
teachers and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and |
|
|
commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and |
|
|
promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate D'Schon Leon Simmons on graduating |
|
|
as salutatorian of the West Oso High School Class of 2023 and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the |
|
|
next exciting chapter of his life. |
