R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Nicole Hawkins ably served her fellow Texans as the |
|
constituent services and outreach manager in the office of State |
|
Representative Chris Turner during the 87th Legislature and the |
|
succeeding interim; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Hawkins worked in Representative Turner's |
|
office from July 2021 until November 2022, and over the course of |
|
her tenure, she tirelessly supported the representative's efforts |
|
in behalf of his constituents; an astute and empathetic problem |
|
solver, she helped residents with a range of issues; she drafted |
|
constituent correspondence and communications, implemented |
|
constituent recognition programs, and organized such events as a |
|
drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic and multiple town hall |
|
meetings; moreover, she assisted with legislation to protect the |
|
rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Christian University with a |
|
degree in journalism and political science, Ms. Hawkins currently |
|
serves as a communications associate at the George W. Bush |
|
Institute; she has previously completed internships with the City |
|
of Arlington, the HOLLAND Collective, and a number of news |
|
publications; in addition, she has served as a casework specialist |
|
for the Texas House of Representatives; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee performed her duties |
|
in Representative Turner's office with skill and dedication, and |
|
she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Nicole Hawkins for her service as |
|
constituent services and outreach manager in the office of State |
|
Representative Chris Turner and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Hawkins as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
