R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Pratt McLain of Gruver High School achieved great |
|
|
distinction by winning the bronze medal in the 2A boys' pole vault |
|
|
at the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State |
|
|
Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. McLain |
|
|
turned in a notable performance, clearing a height of 15 feet, |
|
|
0 inches, to claim third place; this marked the second consecutive |
|
|
year that he earned a place on the podium, after collecting a bronze |
|
|
medal at the 2022 state meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Pratt McLain has ably |
|
|
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Pratt McLain on his bronze-medal |
|
|
performance in the 2A boys' pole vault at the 2023 UIL Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. McLain as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
