R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Lance Billeaud has served his community with
  tremendous dedication as chief of the Groves Fire Department; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the department in 1997, Lance Billeaud
  has impressed colleagues with his skill and leadership, which
  resulted in him being named the city's fire chief and emergency
  management coordinator in 2020; in those roles, he has continued to
  build a strong rapport with residents, public officials, and staff,
  and he was recently appointed by the Groves City Council to serve as
  interim city manager; and
         WHEREAS, Chief Billeaud has shared his expertise with other
  fire safety personnel as a volunteer training officer for the
  Groves FD and as a lead instructor at the Lamar Institute of
  Technology Regional Fire Academy; he was named the department's
  Firefighter of the Year in 2004, and he was honored with a Special
  Recognition Award by the Sabine-Neches Chiefs Association in 2017;
  he has served on the board of directors of the Fire Museum of Texas
  since 2012; and
         WHEREAS, An active volunteer in his community, Chief Billeaud
  coached in the local Little League and Little Dribblers programs
  for several years, and he has provided color commentary for Port
  Neches-Groves High School football games for the past decade; he is
  also a valued congregant of Immaculate Conception-St. Peter the
  Apostle Catholic Parish and a dedicated member of the Knights of
  Columbus; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Chief Billeaud enjoys the love
  and support of his wife of 27 years, Tracie Billeaud; his treasured
  family includes his three children, Marissa, Kasey, and Ryan, and
  his three grandchildren, Kambree, McKenzie, and Owen; and
         WHEREAS, Chief Lance Billeaud's hard work, professionalism,
  and commitment to excellence have earned him the trust and
  admiration of the citizens of Groves, and he is indeed deserving of
  recognition for his exemplary service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Fire Chief Lance Billeaud for his
  contributions to the Groves community and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Chief Billeaud as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
