R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, William H. Lindley is retiring as Highland Park town |
|
administrator on May 26, 2023, drawing to a close a distinguished |
|
career in municipal government that has spanned more than four |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his 15 years as town |
|
administrator, Bill Lindley has played an instrumental role in |
|
assisting the town council in implementing a 10-year operating and |
|
capital budget; he was integral to the renovation of the town's |
|
parks and town hall, as well as improvements to the roads and |
|
utility systems; during his tenure, he has ably guided Highland |
|
Park through many difficult challenges, including the West Nile |
|
virus outbreak, Winter Storm Uri, and the COVID-19 pandemic; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Lindley holds a bachelor's degree and has |
|
completed coursework toward a master's degree in public |
|
administration, and he received continuing education certification |
|
in public management and mediation; prior to joining the Highland |
|
Park staff, he held several senior leadership positions with local |
|
governments in Gladewater, Rusk, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and |
|
Colleyville, which was the recipient of the 2006 Municipal |
|
Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal League while he was city |
|
manager; he has been honored with the Jay Sansom Mentor Award from |
|
the North Texas City Management Association and the Mentoring Award |
|
in Memory of Gary Gwyn from the Texas City Management Association; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his skill and dedication, Bill Lindley has |
|
greatly benefited the Highland Park community, and he may reflect |
|
with pride on his many contributions as he begins the next exciting |
|
chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate William H. Lindley on his |
|
retirement as Highland Park town administrator and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Lindley as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
