R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Honorable Steve Floyd retired as Tom Green |
|
|
County judge on December 31, 2022, drawing to a close more than |
|
|
three decades of service to the county; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, First taking office as county judge on December 31, |
|
|
2013, Judge Floyd served his fellow citizens with distinction |
|
|
throughout his nine-year tenure; his many accomplishments included |
|
|
successfully guiding the county through the COVID-19 pandemic and |
|
|
the 2021 winter storm and overseeing the construction of the new Tom |
|
|
Green County Jail as well as renovations to the Tom Green County |
|
|
Courthouse; he was also instrumental in the county's receipt of |
|
|
three Altus Trophy awards for its outstanding support of the |
|
|
Goodfellow Air Force Base; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judge Floyd's previous service to the county |
|
|
includes more than a decade as justice of the peace and several |
|
|
terms as a county commissioner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Steve Floyd's vision, leadership, and dedication |
|
|
have greatly benefited the citizens of Tom Green County, and he may |
|
|
indeed reflect with pride on his exemplary record of service as he |
|
|
embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Steve Floyd on his retirement as |
|
|
Tom Green County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Judge Floyd as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
