R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sandra Rhodes is singing the national anthem at the
  2023 Texas Fallen Heroes Ceremony at the State Capitol on May 27,
  and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity to acknowledge her
  and her husband, Dusty Rhodes, for their invaluable contributions
  to music education in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Passionate about using music, the arts, and
  higher-order thinking skills to create well-rounded students,
  Dusty and Sandra Rhodes have taught music to countless students
  across East and Southeast Texas; they have worked in the local
  school districts of numerous communities, including Centerville,
  Conroe, Pasadena, Kirbyville, Bay City, West Columbia, Sweeny, and
  Seguin, and they have been active in various church music
  ministries as well; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of their careers, Mr. and
  Mrs. Rhodes have established a number of choir and band programs at
  the high school, middle school, and elementary school levels;
  thanks to their able guidance and inspiring influence, their
  students have attained many notable accomplishments over the years,
  such as participating in All-State Choir and Band, achieving
  success at state and regional solo and ensemble contests, and
  winning numerous sweepstakes and top awards at concert and
  sight-reading contests; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes have enjoyed a rewarding
  marriage that has spanned more than five decades, and they are the
  proud parents of three children, Joshua, Daniel, and Tabitha; and
         WHEREAS, Through their exceptional commitment to music
  education, Dusty and Sandra Rhodes have made a positive difference
  in the lives of countless young Texans, and it is indeed a pleasure
  to recognize them at this time; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dusty and Sandra Rhodes for their years of
  service as music educators and extend to them sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
