R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Heriberto Garcia Maldonado on January 9, 2023, at the age |
|
of 87; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Rodolfo and Bernandina Maldonado, "Eddie" |
|
Maldonado was born on September 13, 1935, in Del Rio; he received |
|
his education at San Felipe High School and graduated as a member of |
|
the Class of 1954; enlisting in the U.S. Army two years later, he |
|
served as a combat medic specialist and earned a marksmanship badge |
|
before being honorably discharged in 1962; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Maldonado married the love of his life, Yolanda |
|
Ramos, on August 18, 1962, and the couple shared a richly rewarding |
|
union until Mrs. Maldonado's passing; Mr. Maldonado took great |
|
pride in his five children, Hector, Carmen, Jerry, Danny, and |
|
Heriberto, and with the passing years, he had the privilege of |
|
welcoming grandchildren and great-grandchildren into his treasured |
|
family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Maldonado was a skilled musician who played |
|
guitar with the church choir and for community Mother's Day |
|
serenades; in his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and watching |
|
football; and |
|
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this esteemed |
|
man's love and friendship will always remember him with great |
|
admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Heriberto Garcia |
|
Maldonado and extend sincere condolences to his many friends and |
|
loved ones; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eddie |
|
Maldonado. |
