R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a |
|
|
century, Gustavo and Lucy Rodriguez celebrated their 50th wedding |
|
|
anniversary on March 25, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez first met as teenagers on the |
|
|
plaza in Piedras Negras, Mexico, and in 1973, they exchanged the |
|
|
vows of matrimony at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, next to |
|
|
the plaza where they had met a year earlier; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed couple count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes three children, Claudia, Gustavo, and |
|
|
Brenda, as well as eight grandchildren, Idalis, Raulito, Nayeli, |
|
|
Gustavo, Abigail, Gabriela, Victor, and Laila, and a |
|
|
great-grandchild, Sarahi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past 50 years, Gustavo and |
|
|
Lucy Rodriguez can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|
|
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gustavo and Lucy Rodriguez on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
