R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Francisco M. Sanchez has been named the 2022-2023 |
|
|
Teacher of the Year at Eagle Pass High School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sanchez teaches audio/video technology and |
|
|
communications at Eagle Pass High School; first hired in 2009, he |
|
|
previously served as a math teacher; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Sanchez is the director |
|
|
of Eagle Public Radio and a codirector of Cine De Mayo Film |
|
|
Festival; in addition, he is a member of Redeemer Episcopal Church, |
|
|
the Eagle Pass Digital Arts Society board, and the Houston-Louis |
|
|
Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation advisory board, and he |
|
|
has been involved with several honor societies; he holds bachelor's |
|
|
degrees in mathematics and in history as well as an associate's |
|
|
degree in secondary education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Francisco Sanchez exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Francisco M. Sanchez on his |
|
|
selection as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year at Eagle Pass High |
|
|
School and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
with his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Sanchez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
