R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Glen John Claybrook, formerly of Eagle Pass, was |
|
presented with the 2022 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature |
|
Film from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences; and |
|
WHEREAS, Glen Claybrook received the honor for his work as |
|
character technical director on the film, Encanto; the feature from |
|
Walt Disney Animation Studios follows a family, the Madrigals, who |
|
live hidden in the mountains of Colombia; this is Mr. Claybrook's |
|
second Oscar after previously winning one in 2014 for the film, |
|
Frozen; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Lydia Claybrook and the late John |
|
Claybrook, Mr. Claybrook was a member of the Class of 1974 at Eagle |
|
Pass High School and went on to graduate from The University of |
|
Texas at Austin; for many years, he served as a director and |
|
technical director for the animation studio, Curious Pictures; he |
|
joined Walt Disney in 1996 and was named character technical |
|
director in 2007; over the course of his career, his credits include |
|
Big Hero 6, Puddles, Wreck-It Ralph, Tangled, Bolt, Raya and the |
|
Last Dragon, Chicken Little, and Home on the Range; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication to his craft and his |
|
unwavering commitment to excellence, Glen Claybrook has |
|
contributed significantly to the success of Encanto and countless |
|
other beloved films, and this prestigious award represents a |
|
fitting recognition of his many achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Glen John Claybrook on his receipt |
|
of the 2022 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and extend |
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be created |
|
for Mr. Claybrook as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
of Representatives. |
