R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Isabelle Massaro of Episcopal High School in |
|
|
Bellaire has earned great distinction by winning a gold medal in the |
|
|
2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1923, this prestigious awards program |
|
|
recognizes exceptional writing and artwork created by students from |
|
|
across the country; to be selected for a Scholastic Award, |
|
|
participants must create a unique piece that demonstrates their |
|
|
technical skill and expresses their personal voice; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Massaro is among an elite group of students to |
|
|
garner a Scholastic Award at the national level, and she joins the |
|
|
ranks of the program's renowned alumni, including Andy Warhol and |
|
|
Joyce Carol Oates; this gifted young Texan was honored for her short |
|
|
film, The Coffee Order; while completing the project, she set an |
|
|
inspiring example of hard work and perseverance, and she plans to |
|
|
continue developing her filmmaking skills; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Isabelle Massaro has demonstrated exceptional |
|
|
talent, creativity, and dedication to her craft, and she may indeed |
|
|
take great pride in her fine showing in the 2023 Scholastic Art & |
|
|
Writing Awards competition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Isabelle Massaro on winning a gold |
|
|
medal in the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Massaro as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
