A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to recording the results of certain home studies performed |
|
by the Department of Family and Protective Services. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 262.114, Family Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: |
|
(a-3) The department shall record the results of a home |
|
study performed under Subsection (a) in the department's electronic |
|
case management system. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 264.207, Family Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (b) to read as follows: |
|
(b) The department shall record the results of a home study |
|
performed under Subsection (a) in the department's electronic case |
|
management system. |
|
SECTION 3. Sections 262.114(a-3) and 264.207(b), Family |
|
Code, as added by this Act, apply only to a home study performed on |
|
or after the effective date of this Act. A home study performed |
|
before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in |
|
effect on the date the home study was performed, and the former law |
|
is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
