AN ACT
|
|
relating to the recipients of opioid antagonists under the opioid |
|
antagonist program. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 461A.059(c), Health and Safety Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
(c) The executive commissioner may provide opioid |
|
antagonists under the program to emergency medical services |
|
personnel, first responders, public schools, institutions of |
|
higher education as defined by Section 481.134, community centers, |
|
and other persons likely to be in a position to respond to an opioid |
|
overdose. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
