A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring state agencies participating in Operation |
|
|
Lone Star to develop and report performance measures on the |
|
|
agency's operations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 421, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 421.005 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 421.005. PERFORMANCE MEASURES FOR ASSESSING BORDER |
|
|
OPERATIONS; REPORT. Each state agency participating in Operation |
|
|
Lone Star or a successor border security operation shall develop |
|
|
and implement performance measures as part of the agency's review |
|
|
of its border operations and report its findings to the legislature |
|
|
not later than January 30 of each year. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
