A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to authorizing the issuance of a special hospital license |
|
|
to certain establishments. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 241.023, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c-4) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c-4) The executive commissioner shall adopt rules and |
|
|
standards to allow an establishment that specializes in providing |
|
|
services to infants diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome to |
|
|
be licensed as a special hospital under this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2023, the executive |
|
|
commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission shall |
|
|
adopt the rules and standards necessary to implement Section |
|
|
241.023(c-4), Health and Safety Code, as added by this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
