A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the calculation of average daily attendance for |
|
|
purposes of the public school finance system. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 48.005, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (o) to read as follows: |
|
|
(o) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, a |
|
|
school district is entitled to funding for a school year on the |
|
|
basis of the greater of: |
|
|
(1) the district's actual average daily attendance for |
|
|
that school year; or |
|
|
(2) the average of the district's average daily |
|
|
attendance for the preceding three school years. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
