A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the chair of the governing board of the Texas School for |
|
|
the Blind and Visually Impaired. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 30.022, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) The governor shall appoint the chair from among the |
|
|
membership of the board. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to the appointment of a chair of the governing board of the Texas |
|
|
School for the Blind and Visually Impaired for a term that begins on |
|
|
or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
