SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Jennifer Jones on nearly 30 years of outstanding |
|
service as a member of the Sunset Advisory Commission and on her |
|
recent retirement as executive director; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Sunset Commission was established in 1977 as |
|
a legislative advisory body to address the operations and |
|
efficiency of Texas state agencies; Jennifer Jones has been a |
|
valued member of the commission for nearly three decades and has |
|
been an exemplar of responsibility and integrity in all aspects |
|
of her service; Jennifer's commitment to excellence set a high |
|
standard for producing essential documents to enable the |
|
commission to carry out its objectives; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jennifer's uncompromising work ethic and astute |
|
judgment prompted her appointment as executive director of the |
|
Sunset Advisory Commission, where she hired and managed some 30 |
|
staff members; under her direction, the commission conducted |
|
reviews to evaluate the performance and cost-effectiveness of |
|
state agencies and to ensure that agencies functioned according |
|
to established standards of excellence; and |
|
WHEREAS, During her tenure as executive director, Jennifer |
|
oversaw the research and review staff that prepared reports, and |
|
she supported the Sunset Advisory Commission in its |
|
determinations with respect to state agencies; she will continue |
|
to work for all Texans in her new role at the Texas General Land |
|
Office, where she will serve as senior advisor to the |
|
commissioner and as deputy director of government relations; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, hereby commend Jennifer Jones on her distinguished |
|
tenure of service with the Sunset Advisory Commission and extend |
|
to her best wishes for success in all of her future endeavors; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
