SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. Jaroy Moore on his distinguished career of more
  than 50 years of state service and on his many contributions to
  agriculture and agricultural education in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, An accomplished scholar, researcher, and leader
  in his field, Dr. Jaroy Moore has served as resident director of
  the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Lubbock
  since 1998; he began his study of agriculture at Tarleton State
  College and went on to earn a degree in agronomy from Texas A&M
  University, where he also earned master's and doctorate degrees
  in soil physics; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Moore has devoted his career to studying the
  agricultural conditions of Texas and to understanding the
  science of the state's natural resources; his decades of
  leadership and specialized study as an administrative director,
  professor, and researcher within The Texas A&M University System
  have allowed Dr. Moore to play a key role in producing important
  and valuable scientific work that has done much to benefit the
  agricultural industry and the citizens of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his extensive leadership within
  The Texas A&M University System, Dr. Moore is involved in many
  professional organizations and has worked in connection with
  agricultural groups and agencies in Texas and nationwide; in the
  course of his career, he has been honored with accolades and
  numerous awards for his superior leadership and service,
  including being named Outstanding Agriculturist by Governor Rick
  Perry in 2006 in recognition of his public service; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Moore is highly respected and admired by his
  staff and colleagues at Texas A&M University and by members of
  the agricultural industry and the scientific community; for more
  than five decades, Dr. Moore has served the state with dedication
  and an outstanding commitment to excellence, and it is indeed
  fitting that he receive special recognition for his invaluable
  contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Jaroy Moore on his distinguished
  career and his exemplary service to the Lone Star State; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
