R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The life of former Frio County Judge Carlos Garcia |
|
of Pearsall drew to a close on March 29, 2023, at the age of 73; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Jose F. Garcia and Canuta Aguilar Garcia, |
|
"Chale" Garcia was born in Pearsall on July 4, 1949, and he grew up |
|
with the companionship of six siblings, Mary, George, Jose, |
|
Antonio, Juanita, and Gloria; he graduated from Pearsall High |
|
School, and he continued his education at Durham Business College; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia began his public service career in 1987, |
|
when he became justice of the peace for Frio County; in 1991, he was |
|
elected as Frio County judge, and he served in that role for more |
|
than two decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Garcia took great pride |
|
in his three children, Carlos, Isaiah, and Melisa, and his |
|
granddaughter, Melody; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, Chale Garcia has left |
|
his friends and loved ones with many cherished memories, and they |
|
will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Carlos Garcia and extend sincere |
|
condolences to the members of his family: to his children, Carlos |
|
Garcia Jr., Isaiah Garcia, and Melisa Garcia and her husband, |
|
Martin Estrada; to his granddaughter, Melody Estrada; to his |
|
siblings, Antonio Aguilar Garcia, Juanita Garcia Trevino, and |
|
Gloria Garcia; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Chale Garcia. |
