SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 425
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Salvatore Zaccagnino on the grand occasion of his 85th |
|
|
birthday on March 17, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A second-generation American, Sal Zaccagnino was |
|
|
born on March 17, 1938, in Buffalo, New York; he earned a |
|
|
bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy and a |
|
|
master's degree from the University of Southern California; Sal |
|
|
served his country with distinction in the United States Air |
|
|
Force for two decades as a navigator and electronic warfare |
|
|
officer, eventually retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel |
|
|
in 1980; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sal served as president of Caldwell National Bank |
|
|
for nearly a decade before taking a position as an investment |
|
|
consultant for American Express and for LPL Financial in Austin |
|
|
until his retirement in 2019; a shrewd and insightful banker and |
|
|
financier, he also served as chairman of the Texas Bankers |
|
|
Association Services Company; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen dedicated to serving the |
|
|
public, Sal was appointed to the Brazos River Authority board of |
|
|
directors and served on the board for more than two decades; Sal |
|
|
has served as president of the Caldwell Lions Club and the |
|
|
Burleson County Chamber of Commerce and has served in leadership |
|
|
positions with the Burleson County Industrial Foundation and the |
|
|
Burleson County Economic Development Council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sal is noted for his commitment to his country |
|
|
and his community and for his devotion to his beloved wife of |
|
|
61 years, Alice, and his cherished family; he is a highly |
|
|
esteemed member of his community, and his 85th birthday is |
|
|
indeed cause for celebration among his family and friends; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby recognize Salvatore Zaccagnino as a |
|
|
treasured citizen of the Lone Star State and extend to him |
|
|
congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of his 85th |
|
|
birthday; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
