SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 428
         WHEREAS, U.S. Navy Lieutenant and native Texan Arielle Ash
  led the Super Bowl's first all-female piloted flyover on February
  12, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, The military flyover took place in the skies above
  State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, before the Super Bowl
  LVII football game; Lieutenant Ash served as the lead pilot in a
  diamond formation that included two F/A-18F Super Hornets, one
  F-35C Lightning II, and one EA-18G Growler; she flew one of the
  Super Hornet fighter jets; and
         WHEREAS, The crew of seven female aviators made history by
  participating in the flyover, which commemorated 50 years of
  women pilots' service in the U.S. Navy; women were first admitted
  to the navy's flight school in 1973; the following year, six
  women earned their wings and became known as "The First Six"; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Abilene, Lieutenant Ash attended Wylie
  High School and graduated from Texas Tech University in 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Through her leadership, skill, and dedication,
  Arielle Ash has set an outstanding example to which others may
  aspire, and she is truly deserving of special recognition for her
  achievements in aviation; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Lieutenant Arielle Ash on
  leading the Super Bowl's first all-female piloted flyover and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Lieutenant Ash as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
