SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 509
         WHEREAS, Cindy Gonzales retired from King Ranch and from
  the Kenedy County Commissioners' Court on December 31, 2022; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in South Texas, Cindy Gonzales
  began her career with King Ranch in 1976, when she was hired as a
  grocery clerk for the Norias Commissary; she was promoted to data
  entry clerk of the Norias Division in 1980, assuming oversight of
  cattle inventory, feed, purchase orders, invoices, rain reports,
  and payroll and making a skillful transition from handwritten
  ledgers to electronic records; over the course of her 46 years
  with the ranch, she also assisted the ranch manager; and
         WHEREAS, In November 2006, Mrs. Gonzales was first elected
  as the Kenedy County commissioner for Precinct 4; tirelessly
  working in support of infrastructure projects during her four
  terms in office, she played a key role in the rebuilding of Sam
  Noble Park, the restoration of the Kenedy County Courthouse, the
  repaving of streets in Sarita, the construction of a new
  sheriff's office and a 4-H agriculture building, and the creation
  of a nature walking trail; additionally, she helped implement
  policies for animal control and the condemnation of unsafe
  structures; and
         WHEREAS, Widely respected, Mrs. Gonzales is a former board
  member of the Kenedy County Central Appraisal District and the
  Coastal Plains Community Center, which provides behavioral
  health services to individuals with intellectual and
  developmental disabilities and to those struggling with mental
  illness; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Gonzales enjoys the love and support of her
  husband, Johnny, and of their four children, Edward, Misty,
  Amanda, and Ryann, who all grew up on King Ranch; in retirement,
  she plans to remain civically engaged and to seek service
  opportunities; and
         WHEREAS, A committed champion of her community, Cindy
  Gonzales has made a lasting and positive impact at King Ranch and
  in the lives of her fellow citizens, and she may indeed reflect
  with pride on her many contributions as she embarks on the next
  exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Cindy Gonzales on her
  retirement from King Ranch and from the Kenedy County
  Commissioners' Court and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Gonzales as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
