R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Patti Radle is concluding her service to the |
|
San Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees in May |
|
2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Radle has represented District 5 on the school |
|
board since her election in May 2011, and over the course of her |
|
exemplary 12-year tenure, she has worked tirelessly in behalf of |
|
the district, which serves approximately 47,000 students across |
|
more than 90 campuses; she served the board as president from 2015 |
|
to 2021; and |
|
WHEREAS, A former educator, Mrs. Radle taught elementary |
|
school in San Antonio ISD for 12 years, during which time she served |
|
as a third-grade teacher at J. T. Brackenridge Elementary School |
|
and directed a program promoting conflict resolution at various |
|
SAISD campuses; she has taught at the middle and high school levels |
|
in other districts as well; deeply dedicated to her community, she |
|
has served as the volunteer co-director of the local nonprofit |
|
Inner City Development since 1972, and from 2003 to 2007, she was |
|
the District 5 representative on the San Antonio City Council; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Radle holds a degree in theology from Marquette |
|
University and a degree in English, as well as her teacher and |
|
bilingual certifications, from Our Lady of the Lake University; she |
|
was recently presented with an honorary doctorate from the Oblate |
|
School of Theology; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to excellence, Patti Radle has earned the lasting |
|
respect and appreciation of her fellow citizens, and her |
|
contributions to public education in San Antonio will continue to |
|
resonate for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby commend Patti Radle for her years of service to the San |
|
Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees and extend to |
|
her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Radle as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
