HB298 by Goodwin (Relating to a required waiting period for firearm sales; creating a criminal offense.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would create an offense punishable as a Class A misdemeanor if a person sells a firearm to any person and delivers the firearm to the person to whom the firearm is being sold before the third business day after the date on which the firearm was sold to the person.

It is assumed that any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
