No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would amend the Labor Code to ordering medical exams relating to certain compensable workers' compensation injuries and claims.
Based on the analysis of the Texas Judicial Council Office of Court Administration, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Department of Public Safety, Department of Insurance, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, State Office of Risk Management, Texas Juvenile Justice Department, Department of Criminal Justice, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, any duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by the agencies utilizing existing resources.
The bill would continue the requirement for designated doctor's examinations which the State Office of Risk Management (SORM) requests. It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources
