No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would increase the limitations period for indictments to be presented for the offense of abandoning or endangering a child from 5 years after the date of the commission of the offense to 10 years after the date of the commission of the offense.
The Office of Court Administration and the Comptroller of Public Accounts indicate that no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
It is assumed that the impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
