No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 504.005, to require license plates issued by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) during calendar year 2024, other than specialty license plates, to be designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the writing of the Texas state song. The provisions of the bill would expire on January 1, 2025.

Based on the information provided by TxDMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the department's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
