Fiscal Analysis
The resolution would suspend rules necessary for the conference committee on House Bill 9 to add text on a matter not included in either the House or Senate version of the bill. This would increase the amount transferred from the Broadband Infrastructure Fund to the Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund from $109,460,000 to $155,200,000 in the 2024-25 biennium.
Methodology
The amounts in the tables reflect the total amount transferred to the Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund, and only the corresponding amount being transferred from the Broadband Infrastructure Fund.
Local Government Impact
According to the Commission on State Emergency Communications, out of amounts transferred to the Next Generation 9-1-1 Service Fund, about $132.6 million would be distributed to local emergency communications districts (ECDs). No other local impact is anticipated.
