A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to educational and informational materials provided |
|
|
through the Thriving Texas Families Program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 54.003, Health and Safety Code, as added |
|
|
by Chapter 1033 (S.B. 24), Acts of the 88th Legislature, Regular |
|
|
Session, 2023, is amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(b-1) Educational and informational materials provided |
|
|
through the program, including lesson curricula and promotional |
|
|
items: |
|
|
(1) may include only medically accurate and |
|
|
scientifically supported information; |
|
|
(2) must be provided in a non-coercive, factual |
|
|
manner; and |
|
|
(3) may not explicitly endorse any religious ideology, |
|
|
teaching, or practice. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
