A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the establishment of a memorial monument dedicated to |
|
|
unborn children on the Capitol grounds. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 443, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 443.01528 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 443.01528. MEMORIAL MONUMENT FOR UNBORN CHILDREN. The |
|
|
State Preservation Board may approve and establish a memorial |
|
|
monument on the State Capitol grounds dedicated to unborn children. |
|
|
The State Preservation Board may use only private contributions |
|
|
made for a purpose related to the memorial monument to create, |
|
|
establish, and permanently maintain the monument. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 443.0152(a-1), Government Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) Except as provided by Sections 443.01525, [and] |
|
|
443.01526, and 443.01528, after September 1, 2009, no additional |
|
|
monuments may be placed on the historic grounds of the Capitol. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
