A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to prioritization of requests for financial assistance |
|
|
from certain funds administered by the Texas Water Development |
|
|
Board. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter J, Chapter 15, Water Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Section 15.6043 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 15.6043. PRIORITY FOR CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES. In |
|
|
providing financial assistance from any revolving fund established |
|
|
under this subchapter, the board shall, to the extent permissible |
|
|
under federal law, give priority to a request for financial |
|
|
assistance from a municipality located not more than 50 miles from |
|
|
an area of high growth. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to an application for financial assistance submitted to the Texas |
|
|
Water Development Board on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
An application submitted before the effective date of this Act is |
|
|
governed by the law in effect immediately before the effective date |
|
|
of this Act, and the former law is continued in effect for that |
|
|
purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
