A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to notice to the Texas A&M Forest Service of a prescribed |
|
|
burn to be conducted by the Parks and Wildlife Department. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 11.354, Parks and Wildlife Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The department shall provide notice to the Texas A&M |
|
|
Forest Service of the department's intent to conduct a prescribed |
|
|
burn not less than 30 days before the planned start date of the |
|
|
prescribed burn. The notice must include a request that the Texas |
|
|
A&M Forest Service appropriately locate equipment to respond to a |
|
|
fire in the event that the prescribed burn becomes uncontained. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 11.354(d), Parks and Wildlife Code, as |
|
|
added by this Act, applies only to a prescribed burn that the Parks |
|
|
and Wildlife Department intends to conduct on or after the |
|
|
effective date of this Act. |

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
