AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the composition of the board of directors of the Texas |
|
|
Windstorm Insurance Association. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Sections 2210.102(b), (c-1), and (d), Insurance |
|
|
Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) Three members must be: |
|
|
(1) representatives of the insurance industry who |
|
|
actively write or sell [and renew] windstorm and hail insurance in |
|
|
the first tier coastal counties; and |
|
|
(2) residents of this state. |
|
|
(c-1) At least one [One] of the members appointed under |
|
|
Subsection (c) must be a property and casualty agent who is licensed |
|
|
under this code, is actively offering or selling Texas windstorm |
|
|
and hail insurance policies under this chapter, and is not a captive |
|
|
agent. |
|
|
(d) Three members must reside in an area of this state that |
|
|
is located outside a catastrophe area [more than 100 miles from the |
|
|
Texas coastline]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
