A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment protecting the right to |
|
|
produce meat and meat food products naturally derived from |
|
|
livestock. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 36(a), Article I, Texas Constitution, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) The people have the right to engage in generally |
|
|
accepted farm, ranch, timber production, horticulture, or wildlife |
|
|
management practices on real property they own or lease. The right |
|
|
to engage in ranching includes the right to produce meat and meat |
|
|
food products naturally derived from livestock. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment protecting the right to |
|
|
produce meat and meat food products naturally derived from |
|
|
livestock." |
