R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Maria Ninfa Cantu De La Garza of Harlingen, who passed
  away on November 17, 2024, at the age of 88; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Maria Teresa Cantu, Ninfa De La
  Garza was born on May 22, 1936, in San Benito and grew up with the
  companionship of a brother, Gaston; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. De La Garza enjoyed a rewarding career as an
  educator, and she devoted 35 years to teaching children in South
  Texas; she held a bachelor's degree in education, a master's degree
  in reading, and certifications in elementary and bilingual
  education; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to her family above all else, she shared a
  rewarding marriage with her husband, Hector De La Garza, and she
  took great pride in her daughters, Theresa and Lori; with the
  passing years, Mrs. De La Garza had the privilege of seeing her
  family grow to include four grandchildren, Christian, Nina, Andrew,
  and Aaron; her life was further enriched by her beloved dogs, Dart
  and Scout; in her leisure hours, she enjoyed gardening and
  shopping, and she took great pleasure in visiting Disney World with
  her grandchildren; in all her endeavors, she drew strength from her
  Catholic faith; and
         WHEREAS, Ninfa De La Garza lived a caring and purposeful
  life, and she will forever be remembered with deep affection by all
  who had the good fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maria Ninfa Cantu De
  La Garza and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Hector De La Garza; to her daughters,
  Theresa Servellon and Loranda Romero; to her grandchildren,
  Christian Servellon, Catarina Romero, and Andrew Romero; and to her
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ninfa De La
  Garza.
