A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the definition of crosswalk for the purpose of motor |
|
|
vehicle collisions involving a pedestrian or other vulnerable road |
|
|
user within the area of a crosswalk. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 545.428(a), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended by amending Subdivision (1) and adding Subdivision (1-a) to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(1) "Crosswalk" has the meaning assigned by Section |
|
|
541.302. |
|
|
(1-a) "Electric personal assistive mobility device" |
|
|
has the meaning assigned by Section 551.201. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
