AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the amount of an expenditure that may be paid by an |
|
|
emergency services district employee without board approval. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee |
|
|
who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required |
|
|
for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse |
|
|
district funds. An expenditure of more than $50,000 [$2,000] may |
|
|
not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the |
|
|
board approves the expenditure. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A |
|
|
purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by |
|
|
the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this |
|
|
Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
