R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tracy Stephens has been recognized with a 2025 |
|
|
Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An expert in flood and stormwater drainage systems, |
|
|
Mr. Stephens is retired from a long career with the City of Houston |
|
|
Public Works and Engineering Department; over the years, he has |
|
|
served as a consultant for the Harris County Flood Control District |
|
|
and the Texas Department of Transportation as well as a community |
|
|
advisor for the Houston Ship Channel Expansion Project 11; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens has further benefited his community |
|
|
through his extensive civic engagement, giving generously of his |
|
|
time and expertise as a member of the Harris County Community Flood |
|
|
Resilience Task Force, the Texas General Land Office Community |
|
|
Development Block Grant Mitigation Citizen Advisory Committee, the |
|
|
East End District Rail Safety Task Force, and other groups; he also |
|
|
serves as president of the Sunnyside Civic Club and as a board |
|
|
member of Achieving Community Tasks Successfully, and he is active |
|
|
in several area super neighborhood councils; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tracy Stephens sets an inspiring example of service |
|
|
and achievement for his fellow Texans, and he is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition for all that he has accomplished in behalf of |
|
|
the Houston community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby congratulate Tracy Stephens on his receipt of a 2025 |
|
|
Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Stephens as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
